2 Years to Us!

So yesterday was our 2 year anniversary. My oh my how the time flies.

In good ole celebratory fashion we went to Color Me Mine and painted some mugs. My mug happens to have some symbolism behind it. First, there are two lines wrapping around the mug ... which obviously represents 2 years. Then there is one like that goes around the whole top of the mug which represents eternity (cause it's a circle) and the 2 lines that I talked about earlier are connected to that line around the top, therefore also representing Ben and I who are joined together for eternity.
Ok. Really, I didn't come up with the lines representing anything part until after I had already made the masterpiece. But I think it works nicely. It is art after all.

Ben and I were working on our mugs until the very last minute that the place was open and we had the whole place to ourselves most of the time (well, there was a person who worked there lurking around but she never bothered us).

I had fun watching Ben do something he is so good at but doesn't do very often and I got to try my hand at the artistic thing as well. Did I enjoy it? Very much so. Plus, did I mention, our anniversary just happened to be "half off studio fee day" so we spent around 10 less bucks then we were planning to.

And the final picture of our works of art before they enter the kiln ... who knows what they'll look like when they get out. Guess we'll find out on Monday.

Anyway, after we finished up at Color Me Mine we headed over to Ruby River Steakhouse to eat dinner. When we got there they asked us if there were any special occasions. We told them it was our anniversary. When we were seated our server told us we got a free Mud Pie. Mmm ...

The food was delicious and I can't believe I ate as much as I did. I'm pretty sure I won't need to eat anything else for the rest of the week.

Finally, I have to share the best conversation of the evening.

Brooke: "So, tell me 2 things you like about being married"

Ben: "When you go to Yoga classes and when you go to Cycling classes"

Brooke: "Grrr .... "

Ben: "OH! And when you go to scrapbooking retreats. I think that covers all the times you leave."

Brooke: "I'm so blogging this conversation."

Anyway, being married to Ben has been wonderful and getting to know his family has been great as well.

Now, in honor of the saying we learned on our trip to Hawaii with Jay and Tim, "It's been a great 2 years and I'd gladly do 2 more". Ben mentioned that if we keep saying that every anniversary we are just getting deeper and deeper in. That's definitely okay with me.

Congrats William and Samantha on your new baby. We are very excited for you and glad that everything went well.

Those mugs are very yin and yang, mars and venus with the circles and the angles.
Reading between the lines of the "conversation" makes me think Ben doesn't like it when you aren't around.

That's a fun idea! I might have to steal it one of these days. I'm not sure how Brian would feel, but he's usually game to try new things.
