Our Weekend

Here are some pictures from our weekend hike. Yeah, we didn't think about the fact that there would be snow but it was still fun.

Since it was snowy we couldn't really drive up to the trail head so we added an extra mile both ways but it was still really fun.

This was the beginning of the hike. I was a little skeptical about climbing into the mountains covered in snow, but we were reassured that we could do it by a couple who was hiking the same trail with their 5 month old baby.

The mountains are so pretty even in the winter. I wish it wasn't so cold so I could enjoy it more. Alas.

After hiking about 15 - 20 minutes we reached "Donut Falls" and we were going to hike to the top (another 100 feet) but the snow was no longer packed down enough so we were sinking in up to our waists. We took some pictures and headed home.

It was nice to get out and enjoy the outdoors, especially since we probably won't be able to do it again for another few months - or if it's anything like last year another half a year.

So beautiful! Don't give up the outdoors because of the snow. Rent some snow shoes or cross-country skis and enjoy it! I find that cross country skiing always makes me laugh and laugh, and being with Ben always makes everyone laugh, so the combination would no doubt be very mirthful.
