Barefoot Phenomena

For some reason physics graduate students feel the need to come to school without shoes on. I guess it started with just one person and is starting to spread like wild fire. I've noticed at least one person every day this week (a different person every day) walking around the building without shoes and it's just plain odd.

It's not even warm outside. In fact, I purposely wore my thick socks to keep me toasty warm while walking from our apartment to the bus and then from the bus to work. What are these people thinking? Maybe I would understand it a little better if we were in a warmer climate, but alas, we are not.

Maybe Ben can enlighten me in regards to what these science type people are thinking.

J - gross! Was that a dare or something?

I'd rather walk in manure barefoot than around campus where other people had been walking barefoot. That's weird.

If you have athlete's foot you can cure it by walking in manure.

That was the theory Mom. It didn't seem to work though. I suspect that whoever came up with that idea is still laughing.

I'll bet it's an old home remedy.
