Christmas Videos!

Yet another post that would have been more appropriate a week ago but life happens and so it's finally showing up now.

I don't know if you're like me but I often have really high expectations for things and then they occasionally fall short. Really, really short. Well, that happened Christmas morning. For a moment.

The tree was lit, Santa and his elves had stopped by, grandparents and aunts had all sent their gifts. I waited impatiently at the bottom of the stairs, camera ready while Ben brought E down to see the sight.

I was especially excited because we'd been keeping all the presents up in the spare room (to keep them from being unwrapped by an eager toddler) so E had no idea they would be there when he woke up on Christmas morning.

Now, I never expected him to understand Christmas, but I expected him to make it down the stairs and then be at least a little bit excited. Unfortunately, this happened ....

All we wanted him to do was walk down two steps on his own! Silly kid. He continued to cry for a bit after the video was shut off. Until finally ...

That big grin he got when his Zebra started playing music was more of what I was expecting with the first video!

And the rest of our morning looked a lot like this:

Happy kiddo decked out in Christmas gear playing with his Christmas toys. It was definitely a good day.
