There are those moments in life when you realize just how old you are. (I know 23 isn't that old but ... it's a lot older than when Brinley was born.)
5 years ago last night, I was dragging Kjersty out of bed to make the drive to the hospital in Ogden - but first I needed to fill my car up with gas. Then once the gas was filled we couldn't get my car to start so I had to drag another roommate out of bed to come jump start my car. Once that was all taken care of we started our journey from Provo to Ogden.
Normally this drive is nothing close to a "journey", but it just so happened that, that lovely night was a blizzardy/foggy/windy night and we couldn't see anything past the front of the car. Luckily we were the only ones on the freeway so it didn't matter that we had no idea which lane we were in, or if we were even in a lane.
After about an hour and a half of driving we made it to the hospital and we made ourselves a couple of beds by pushing together a couple of chairs. Although it wasn't the best night sleep of my life I was woken up around 6am by my dad letting me know that my mom was starting labor. Another 30 minutes went by and I had a black and blue bruised swollen baby sister and I was ecstatic.
Now here we are 5 years later and she is the cutest, sweetest person I know. I love her! Happy 5th Birthday Brinley.
